One of the great joys of Christmastime [for me, that is] is enjoying traditional Christmas carols. I know the younger crowd likes Bruce Springsteen and Mariah Carey [well, me too] but there’s just something special about those old-time Christmas Carols that says, “It’s Christmas!”
So, in honor of all things old (I heard that snide remark) here’s my version of O Come All Ye Faithful – enjoy!!
It’s Friday – it’s beautiful (where I live) and autumn is in full bloom, so to speak. I wanted to leave you with a new practice teaser video before the weekend starts – I hope you like it . . .

In my previous article I advised creative types to identify and promote their brand [aka their name and face]. I thought I’d highlight a recent video I made for promoting my brand.
A little background
I use a free service called Animoto [ http://www.animoto.com ] to make 30-second videos with a lot of punch. They have a unique engine that takes your graphic slides and a driving soundtrack and mixes them together for 30 seconds of non-stop forward movement.
There are other services available for free but I’ve found generally they’re more interested in filling your video with their name and advertising. After I’m satisfied with the production of my video I upload it to my Youtube Channel [ http://www.youtube.com/user/rkrpiano ] and then it’s ready to embed on any of my sites. I even have a little piece of code that I can insert in the i-frame tag that will make the video play automatically when someone lands on that page – pretty cool.
You have to remember that the Internet is a completely different media than the other more traditional types like radio, television, and print. In my opinion it’s more closely related to billboard advertising than any other – you have to put the important stuff out there first and foremost because people may only have a few seconds to view it while driving by. That’s why I like the video (especially the Animoto produced video) as a way to grab a “surfer’s” attention for just a few seconds but still get an important message across.
Here’s my video again – see if there is anything that you could do in a similar fashion for your creative website.
