It is hard for me to put into words the thrill, excitement, dread, and woe I feel as I’m putting together my first-ever all original music album AN ETCHING IN TIME. Let’s just say there’s a whole range of emotions that I’m experiencing.
I know I’ve talked a lot in the past about how we creative people need to get our “stuff” out into the world in front of people, and be ready to deal with the good, the bad, and the ugly reviews that will certainly follow. It’s quite another thing [new territory] for me to put so much of me out there at one time.
I’m all too aware that the music genre I write isn’t ever going to land me rock-star status, yet in my heart I truly hope to find an audience I can connect with – those [few though they may be] that are really into beautiful music that [hopefully] leaves them feeling full of joy, love, and peace.
Progress: I have six of the album’s 10 songs demoed and uploaded so you can stream them or download them if you like. The reason I record and edit demos is so I can continue to listen to them and work out all the bugs and make any changes I want to before going into the recording studio (which is VERY expensive and not a time to be re-thinking things).
One (of many) disadvantages I have as I promote this album is that I’m an independent music producer – in other words there isn’t a record company full of marketing executives spending thousands of dollars to promote my album. As such, I have to lean on people like you – the ones who listen, follow, like, etc. and ask you to once again tell your friends, family, and associates about my music. Reposting on WordPress is awesome, as is sharing on Facebook, Twitter, and MySpace. Any help you can give me is already greatly appreciated. Thank you for your kind and faithful support!
