So I just uploaded song #9 (DEMO VERSION) of Peace Bridge, the latest addition to my album AN ETCHING IN TIME. I’m finishing up orchestration of number 10 VINTAGE MINDS and I hope to have a demo version of it uploaded this week. That will complete all of the songs included on the album.
It’s been quite a journey so far and I’m sure it will get even more hectic, stressful, and wearisome before the album is actually released. I can set a target date now:
July 4, 2012 (I’m a patriotic American as well as a sentimental kinda fella)
So the countdown begins shortly!
Here is the plan after number 10 demo is in place:
(1) Finalize all arrangements/orchestrations
(2) Secure any necessary instrumental ensemble(s)
(3) Select and book recording studio
(4) Rehearse and polish all arrangements (I will disappear from the radar during this time)
(5) Release sheet music to publishing companies
(6) Record the songs
(7) Wait for entire album mix and engineering
(8) Upload and make available all tracks as singles through iTunes and Android Store [including a personalized app]
(9) Set distribution channels and begin personal appearance promotions
(10) Take a long vacation somewhere within an ocean view!!
Of course, we both know this is the scenario in a perfect world so I expect hiccups, delays, and issues along the way. Oh well, if this was something easy to do everyone would be doing it!

Out of 219,735 artists listed globally in ALL genres, I’ve been ranked 15,407 which means globally I’m in the top 7% in all categories (which includes rock, hiphop, r&b, and all the usual genres)!
I just wanted to share that info with you because I want you all to know the gratitude I feel so strong toward everyone who has listened and shared and supported me – this is good news for all of us because even though I’m kind of a one-man band right now, it takes a whole lot of people to go in any upwards direction in this business – THANK YOU SO MUCH! NEWS:
As you may already know I’ve laid out the demos for 7 out of 10 songs for the upcoming album AN ETCHING IN TIME. I’ll be completing the other demos this week and then some serious decision time has to take place before all of the songs are scored for studio recording. Here’s my dilemma and I’m asking you [the important people] to help me decide what direction I should go:
As my album is released it will need to be tracked in a common genre. Right now I’m aiming for Adult Contemporary because this is the traditional avenue for my style of music. I will need to decide before orchestration is finished whether I want to put a pop slant on the melodies giving them a smooth soft-rock sound [with the appropriate accompanying instruments] or keep it a more classical flavor and stick with traditional orchestral arrangements. My gut tells me to go the pop direction but I’d certainly like any feedback you’d care to give me.
